graduated from New York University, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He is an honors graduate of Cornell University Medical College. He completed an internship and residency in general surgery at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. He then spent an additional year as an assistant in neurosurgery to gain expertise in the surgical techniques of this specialty.
Dr. Lesniewski then completed his orthopedic residency and chief residency at New York University-Bellevue Hospital Medical Center. This program is known for its extensive training in the care and treatment of trauma patients as well as reconstruction in both children and adults.
Dr. Lesniewski has brought this training and that of neurosurgery into a truly general orthopedic practice that touches upon all aspects of musculoskeletal care.
His practice services spinal surgery, adult reconstruction, sports medicine and the care and treatment of pediatric trauma.

Dr. Lesniewski has a special interest in spinal surgery, incorporating the X-stop, a minimally invasive approach to spinal stenosis into the practice. He also incorporates the most recent advances in joint replacement surgery, including the rotating platform knee replacement.
Dr. Lesniewski has been included in the Castle-Connolly Guide to the Best Physicians in New York, in every published edition.

Dr. Lesniewski is deeply involved with his local congregation. He is an adult Bible schoolteacher and co-teaches with his wife, the teen sexuality series. He is a member of the governing board of the congregation.
Dr. Lesniewski has taught both medicine and theology in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, on 5 different occasions.
One of his greatest professional joys is his active participation in the training and mentoring of the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons in the Stony Brook University residency program.
